We’re doing everything we can to avoid the shitshow that is 2020. Whether it’s viewing black-and-white movies, binge-watching our favorite childhood TV episodes, or browsing through the funniest memes on the internet, there’s something for everyone. At this point, no number of movies is extra, and we’ve all devolved into nihilistic escapists seeking any form of escape from the current, bleak reality.

Music is one method to get away from the present. More precisely, the music that we grew up with and that was an important part of our lives as children. Songs in Bollywood films were predominantly pop and romantic 20 years ago, much like the films themselves, which were preoccupied with ladka-ladki love tales. Commercial cinema was simply pleasant and melodic, and commercial cinema music was absolutely commercial. Above all, the music was unique. So, how about we take a stroll down memory lane? Let’s hope none of these amazing tunes are ever altered.

AYE DIL LAYA HAI BAHAAR – KYA KEHNA

This song is a rip-off of Neil Sedaka’s Oh! Carol. Nonetheless, Aye Dil Laya Hai Bahaar became extremely popular because of the beautiful scene depicting a nice family celebrating Priya’s birthday in a picturesque hill region (Manali?). This is one of those songs that is all about the passion behind it.

HAI MERA DIL – JOSH

This was like everyone’s favorite love song, oh my god. Every school has a version of Hai Mera Dil because we were DARED to sing it to our crushes. It’s a charming song, and Ash, as always, looks fantastic in it. Udit Narayan and Alka Yagnik, the most legendary pair of all time, perform the song.

PANCHI NADIYA PAWAN KE – REFUGEE

Panchi Nadiya Pawan Ke is a wonderful love song sung by Sonu Nigam and Alka Yagnik, and it is Abhishek Bachchan’s first-ever film. Songs like this, in which love is portrayed through metaphors of nature and scenery, are no longer available.
