There’s no denying that BTS has evolved since its 2013 debut. While they’re still the same guys at heart, the band has only improved. BTS’s hair colors have also varied throughout time. Most of the Bangtan Boys had dark hair when they first debuted (with the exception of V, who had blonde hair). The Bulletproof Boy Scouts, on the other hand, have colored their hair practically every hue in the rainbow since then, from ashy grays to light purples to platinum blondes.
BTS has never been fearful to experiment with their cosmetic appearances, whether it’s with eyeliner, lip colors, or hairstyles, and we applaud them for it. Find out which BTS hair color you prefer in the video below. For our next color job, we already know which ones we’ll bring to our hairdressers.
1. BTS made its debut in June 2013 with the release of their album 2 Kool 4 Skool, which included the song “No More Dream.” The band’s style was quite different back then, as evidenced by their performance on Simply K-Pop. Six of the seven members had black hair at the time, with the exception of one. V, who had dark blonde hair with black roots, and Jin, who had chestnut-y brown hair, were the only two outliers. The other BTS members’ black hair, as ARMY’s know, didn’t last long.
2. BTS impressed on the red carpet with their show-stopping red and brown hair colors at the Mnet Asian Music Awards in December 2014. Each member had light brown or red hair at the time, with the exception of Jungkook and Jimin, who had black and dark brown hair respectively. RM, whose flaming red locks looked out against the band’s black and red-accented attire, is our personal favorite.
