Pop music has always been the most popular genre on the charts, regardless of which generation we’re talking about. It used to be that musicians like Britney Spears, NSYNC, and Christina Aguilera had the pop scene nailed down in the United States. However, as more foreign singers have gained success in mainstream music over the last decade or two, overseas acts have begun to monopolize the pop market. Even in terms of general entertainment, no one is now running the pop industry like Korean musicians.
Thanks to K-Pop groups like BTS and Girl’s Generation, Korean Pop music, or K-Pop, has quietly gained traction since the days of “Gangnam Style” and has now proven itself as a successful genre in recent years. BTS is currently the most popular K-Pop group in the world, but BLACKPINK, a girl group, is rapidly catching up. We’ve all seen popular pop groups split up for a while to work on solo projects or pursue solo careers. The members of BLACKPINK are no exception, as they have all recorded solo albums. Lisa is the most recent member of BLACKPINK to produce a solo album, Lalisa, which sold nearly a million copies in its first week last year.
Lisa was valued at $13 million at the end of the album’s run, $3 million higher than Jennie, Jisoo, and Rose’s net worths of $10 million. Lisa has amassed her money, according to Capital FM, from endorsements and her job as an ambassador for luxury fashion brands such as Prada, thanks to her excellent sense of style. Lisa is now the wealthiest member of BLACKPINK, at least for the time being. With all of these ladies still hard at work on their projects and a new BLACKPINK album, the rest of the bandmates might easily catch up to her in the coming years.
