Take a look at Arijit Singh's career as it progresses from being a contestant to becoming the most loved singer of all time

As soon as we hear “Arijit Singh,” His heartfelt love songs, which have captured the nation, come to mind first. Even single people are said to start missing their nonexistent companion when they hear Arijit Singh because of how powerful his voice is! He has received numerous awards for his magnificent performances in various Indian languages. He is frequently referred to as “our generation’s voice.” But few of us are familiar with this popular singer’s life story. Let’s look at that today!

Singh’s mentors thought that he would be more successful if he left his hometown and participated in important tournaments that would draw attention to him. He didn’t have as many opportunities in his little village as he did in Mumbai, India’s entertainment capital. Due to this, Arijit Singh, at 18 years old, participated in the reality television programme Fame Gurukul in 2005. But he only managed to place sixth.

However, his potential was discovered, and he sang “Yun Shabnami” for the then-upcoming Saawariya film from renowned filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali. But it was not to be, as modifications to the script led to the song’s removal from the film. Later, he signed a recording contract with Tips Music for an album, but it was ultimately canceled. For Singh, it felt as though every significant chance was ending in failure. It’s obvious that his career had a difficult beginning.

Despite this string of misfortune, Singh remained committed to his objective and never gave up. He made several choices that ultimately changed the course of his life and career. To take benefit of all the possibilities, he relocated permanently to Mumbai, where he lived in a small room and worked as a freelance musician. He then tried his luck on television once more and entered the reality competition 10 Ke 10 Le Gaye Dil, which he won. His musical career truly took off after he opened his own recording studio with the Rs 10 lakh award money!

The following step for Singh was to collaborate with well-known Indian musicians like Pritam, Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, Sachin-Jigar, and Vishal-Shekhar. He started singing for Telugu and Bollywood movies in 2010 and was well-liked by both the Indian public and his fellow musicians. Some of the early films Singh contributed his melodic voice to include Murder 2, Shanghai, 1920: Evil Returns, Players, Cocktail, and Barfi!

However, Arijit Singh’s singing for the film Aashiqui 2 is what actually made him popular across the nation. He had to perform most of the songs for the Aditya Roy Kapoor-portrayed hero because it was a musical. However, Singh rose to prominence because of his passionate performance of the song Tum Hi Ho, which captured hearts all over the nation.
