The location of BTS’s free live performance, which would be held in Busan the following month to support South Korea’s candidacy for the World Expo 2030, has changed. The “BTS Yet To Come in BUSAN” event was originally scheduled for October 15 at the Busan Ilgwang Special Stage in Gijang-gun but has been moved to Asiad Main Stadium. Numerous objections to staging a sizable event in Busan led to the decision to move the location. The concert is anticipated to draw 1,10,000 spectators, making it the largest single event to be held in the city.
10,000 people may watch a live broadcast of the event at the Busan Port International Passenger Terminal, while 100,000 people were expected to attend the gig in Gijang-gun. As a result of the enormous number of guests, there were worries regarding the availability of lodging in Busan because, according to reports in the local media, nearly all the rooms in Gijanh-gun and the surrounding districts were immediately sold out. Hoteliers increased their rates to sell the remaining rooms for more money, and some even cancelled previously made bookings. Concerns concerning the audience’s safety and traffic control were also raised.
There are rumours that the venue itself won’t hold 100,000 people. There is only one gate leading into and out of it as well. In response to these worries, BTS’ management company BigHit Music announced on Friday that they had moved the concert to Asiad Main Stadium. According to an excerpt, the statement said, “Our decision to move the concert’s venue was made to guarantee that the emphasis stays on the performance’s primary goal, which is to promote the bid for the 2030 Busan World Expo.”
