Neha Kakkar Singh is a playback singer, who began performing at a very early age at religious events. Then in 2005, she participated in the second season of the singing reality show, Indian Idol.

The singer rose to prominence with the release of the dance track “Second Hand Jawaani” from Cocktail, followed by several popular party songs including “Sunny Sunny” from Yaariyan and “London Thumakda” from Queen.

Recently, Neha Kakkar released a new song, named “Maine Payal Hai Chankai”, which is the recreation of singer Falguni Pathak’s iconic 1999 song Maine Payal Hai Chhankai.

Neha Kakkar took to her instagram handle and shared stunning pictures dressed in a black co-ord set, which feautured flare pants and a crop-top with a deep plunging neckline and long flare sleeves. Neha paired it with silver set of neckpieces and opted for white shoes.

Captioning her post, Neha wrote, “Maine Payal Hai Chankai, O Sajnaa”.

Talking about her song, ever since it’s been released, viewers have been criticising the song and Neha for ‘ruining’ the original. In an interview, even Falguni said that the song’s innocence has been ruined and added that she was ‘almost about to puke’ when she first heard the new version.
