The K-pop girl band Blackpink has become the official new Sustainable Development Goals advocates at the United Nations, the same has been confirmed by the UN on Twitter.
The UN confirmed the news on Twitter, saying, “ Welcome #BLACKPINK to the UN family! They have engaged with @COP26 to encourage young people to take #ClimateAction to protect the planet and were appointed today by Secretary-General @antonioguterres as our new Sustainable Development Goals #SDG advocates.” as quoted by ETimes.

According to the agency, the band is the first Asian artist group to be appointed as the same. With this, the group told Soompi, “We are honoured to be joining this journey towards a better world.”
