Strangely, browsing aimlessly on Instagram is now more popular than our beloved power naps, which used to save us from having our third breakdown in a day. Out of everything, though, is Bollywood making money off of this culture of doom-scrolling? If you’ve been sincerely reading through Instagram over the past few months, Kesariya, the eagerly anticipated song from Brahmastra, has probably been playing in your head since last night. On April 13, 2022, the teaser was released, and it rapidly became the most popular Instagram Reels in India.

Without a doubt, the song’s 30 seconds seemed like a break from Bollywood’s entanglement in the remake industry. Since it’s only natural to anticipate how excellent the rest of the song will be if the lyrical chorus is this good, the mellifluous teaser increased the fans’ curiosity tenfold.

Most recently, the lofty expectations were dashed when Kesariya’s whole song was published, making a house of cards out of them. Regardless of the expectation, or perhaps precisely because of the hype, the entire song was associated with disappointment, whether it was the Laree Chooti déjà vu or the love story a catastrophe. However bad the song as a whole may be, the song’s hook has been used in numerous reels, making it a financial success. Rangi Saari from Jugjugg Jiyo is currently another remake that is dominating all alternative reels. Bollywood’s other approach is to remake songs with appealing hooks.

Nobody is to blame because it is impractical to sign up for an 18-minute song when your break only lasts 15 minutes. More than before, people hardly ever want to immerse themselves in music; instead, they just want to dabble and experience the emotions. Oh, and let’s not forget the 2020 lockdown, during which a large number of Instagram users created Main Tera reels from their own images. That was the height of self-love. Well, it didn’t take me a month and a half to realize that the ten-second chorus was a significant portion of Kalank’s theme song.

A song is assumed to be a success if it has the potential to trend on Instagram. The proponents of the “smart work over hard labor” philosophy won’t find this objectionable but would be hesitant to use this reasoning if someone preferred blockbuster movies over art movies. Which song will therefore turn out to be more popular? Hint: Your algorithm will press the hook of which.

Here are some Famous Bollywood songs.

  1. Kesariya
  2. Kala Chashma
  3. Raataan Lambiyan
  4. Main Rang Sharbaton Ka
  5. Rangi Saari
