Cube Entertainment is home to G-Idle, CLC, BTOB, Pentagon, and more well-known idol groups. They have some of the most brilliant and well-rounded idols; even their defunct idol groups, such as 4minute and Beast, are still regarded as k-pop legends and aces. Hyuna of 4minute and Hyunseung of Beast formed ‘Trouble Maker,’ the first Kpop subgroup to transcend the rigid Girlgroup/Boygroup divide. Cube also has the most idols that produce and write their own work. What, then, makes them the worst?
It is Cube’s management of these idols, not the quality of their music or even the behavior of their idol groups, that is the issue. They disbanded 4minute when they still had a lot of potential, and they’re doing it again with CLC. CLC’s group activities have been formally halted by Cube. Cube forcibly dismissed Hyuna and E-dawn after they declared their relationship, forcing them to renounce their contract and pay a fine. BTOB and Pentagon are big bands with a lot of promise, but they don’t get a lot of chances or comebacks.
They had Yeonjun from TXT as a trainee, and LE from EXID was also one of their trainees. Cube is well-known for having a strong talent recruiting and training team, but a weak public relations team. And, based on how they treat their artists, this appears to be the case.
