Kavya Madhavan is a former Indian actress who mainly worked in the Malayalam film industry. She debuted in 1991 in Pookkalam Varavayi as a child actress at the age of six. In 1999, when she was in ninth grade she made her debut role as a lead actress in Chandranudikkunna Dikhil. The success of the movie established her very well and she became popular in the 2000s. She has performed in more than 75 movies. Kavya has received a number of accolades including the Kerala State Film Award for Best Actress twice, for her performances in Perumazhakkalam in 2004 and Gaddama in 2010.
The actress received many offers from the Tamil film industry but did not accept them because of her busy schedule in the Malayalam films. For the films One Way Ticket in 2008 and Akashavani in 2016, she wrote the lyrics for the song ‘En Khalbillulloru Pennaanu’. Later on, she also sang her first movie song for the Malayalam film Matinee in 2012.
