Today would have been the 54th birthday of singer Krishnakumar Kunnath, better known by his stage name KK. On May 31 of this year, the great singer went suddenly, devastating his followers and admirers. However, he captured the hearts of millions with his multilingual song collection. He recorded two albums, Pal and Humsafar, and collaborated with well-known composers, including AR Rahman, Ismail Darbar, Vishal Dadlani, and Leslee Lewis, his tutor. Still, the songs of the legendary singer are loved and listened to by fans. Today marks the anniversary of KK’s birth, so let’s look at five of his most well-known songs.

Yaaron (1999)

Yaaron, another KK anthem from the album Pal, was also used in Nagesh Kukunoor’s cult favorite, Rockford (1999). The song discusses the value of love and friendship in our life, particularly while we are young. Yaaron was written by Mehboob and composed by Leslee Lewis.

Pyaar Ke Pal (1999)

KK regarded Pyaar Ke Pal as his best song. However, the track’s opening lyrics, “Hum, rahen ya na rahe kal,” make it even more melancholy. Pyaar Ke Pal, a song written by Mehboob and composed by Leslee Lewis, is about love, loss, memories, and the transience of life. The song was included in KK’s Pal debut album.

Tadap Tadap (1999)

Mehboob wrote the song, and Ismail Darbar composed Tadap Tadap for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s film Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam. The song is about split-ups between lovers. KK’s soulful voice adds an unmatched rawness to the sentiments of intense longing and misery.

Alvida (2007)

Because of KK’s fervent vocals, Alvida from Anurag Basu’s Life In A Metro is one song that sticks with the listener forever. KK’s singing was characterized by the ferocity with which he conveyed untapped passion. Pritam was the composer of the song.

Khuda Jaane (2009)

Another timeless love song that has attained cult status among the singer’s followers is Khuda Jaane from the Siddharth Anand movie Bachna Ae Haseeno. KK and Shilpa Rao performed this duet. Anvita Dutt Guptan wrote the song, and Vishal-Shekhar composed it.

Tu Jo Mila (2015)

Everyone’s hearts were touched by KK’s contribution to this Bajrangi Bhaijaan song when he sang on it. The song, which features Salman Khan, is among the greatest on the album.
