The renowned Bollywood singer Arijit Singh is the King of Playback Music. Despite not winning the 2005 singing reality show Fame Gurukul, Arijit Singh gained recognition and made a name for himself. However, with the release of Aashiqui 2 in 2013 and his rendition of the song Tum Hi Ho, he became an overnight sensation.
This song earned him numerous awards and established him as one of the foremost playback singers of today. Presently, Arijit Singh is one of the highest-paid singers in India.
Arijit, who avoids the spotlight, has successfully kept his personal life private. He was born into a family with a strong musical background – his Punjabi father and Bengali mother were part of a family proficient in Indian classical music. Arijit received music training at home and later pursued it professionally.
Arijit’s wife, Koel Roy, married him on January 20, 2014, at Tarapeeth temple in West Bengal, following traditional Bengali wedding customs. They have been happily married since then and have three children – two sons named Jul and a stepdaughter from Koel’s previous marriage.
