Selena Gomez comes to mind when we consider celebrities that prioritize valuing their bodies and caring for their whole mental and physical wellness. Since receiving her lupus diagnosis in October 2015, Gomez has been open about her struggles and her support for body positivity.
On a radio program On Air With Ryan Seacrest, she said, “It wasn’t about how I acquired weight; it was about how I accepted it, and that’s just sort of my way.” How then do the singer and actress maintain a balanced diet? wellness guru Amy Rosoff Davis, shared the singer’s diet to maintain strength and health over an exhausting travel schedule.
Davis explains, “I always made sure the dressing room had veggies, protein, and brown rice or nutritious grains for Selena’s comeback. We always drank a lot of water and had green tea when we needed a pick-me-up—it sure was exhausting at times. “I made a lot of rice bowls for Selena with veggies, protein, and avocado. It helped give her energy and stamina, which she needed to get through her shows. I also made a healthy chicken salad with grapes and celery.”
She thinks the most crucial diet advice is to make sure your products are fresh. “Focusing on high-quality, fresh food is something I really support. Real food is considerably more delicious than food from a box or bag. I advise visiting your neighborhood farmers market or attempting to get hormone-free/grass-fed meat and organic produce at the supermarket” she says. “Personally, I believe that improving your culinary skills will do wonders for your physique. You are more likely to make wise decisions when you are aware of the ingredients in your diet.”
