There is nothing like a good song to make a movie more meaningful and heartfelt. Bollywood movies especially have a knack for building on the plot with some fantastic songs, be it a slow ballad or a fast-paced dance number! Bollywood definitely has perfected the formula for making hits by mixing in the right amount of music with the plot.
Rang De Basanti, the 2006 musical romance is a classic! The movie has themes of love mixed in the passionate feelings of patriotism that have everyone’s heart filling with emotions for a different reason. The movies scored a solid 8.1/10 on IMDb and 88% on Rotten Tomatoes.
The movie follows the main character, Sue as she selects a couple of students to portray different Indian freedom fighters in her film. This in turn awakens a sense of patriotism in them. This turns each of them into rebels for a cause.
