Ajinkya Rahane has been one of the most important cricketers for India in the Test series format. Off-late, he hasn’t been in the best form but that certainly doesn’t take away the fact that he’s a very good technically sound cricketer who has a lot of cricket left in him.
During a conversation with Ajinkya Rahane, he was asked about the heroics of the Indian cricket team and the sensational turnaround in Australia after getting dismissed for a mere 36 in one innings. In response to this, he made a rather explosive statement saying,
“I know what I’ve done there. I don’t need to tell anyone. That’s not my nature to go and take credit. Yes, there were some things that I took the decisions on the field or in the dressing room but someone else took the credit for it. What was important for me was that we won the series. That was a historical series and for me, that was really special.”
After this, many netizens felt that it could indirectly be a jibe against coach Ravi Shastri. Although Rahane never mentioned Shastri’s name, speculation among netizens is rife.
