A big update coming in for all fans of Novak Djokovic who are excited to see him in Australian Open 2022.
So far, we heard about him getting an exemption for vaccination to defend his Australian Open Title. However, seems like things have changed drastically. As per the latest media reports in The Times, Novak Djokovic is all set to be deported from Australia after he was held on police guard for more than 9 hours after an issue with the paperwork regarding his vaccination status. Reports reveal that Djokovic and his legal team have challenged the matter and taken it forward in court.
The 34-year-old Serbian, who landed at 11.15pm local time, was held under police guard for more than nine hours after an issue with the paperwork relating to his medical exemption from a Covid-19 vaccine for the Australian Open was discovered

The Australian Border Force informed him shortly after 8am that he would not be allowed to proceed through passport control and issued a letter of deportation

Greg Hunt, the health minister, confirmed that “appropriate standards of proof” had not been provided. It is understood that Djokovic’s lawyers intend to challenge the decision
