India’s Nikhat Zareen won the prestigious gold medal at the Women’s World Boxing Championship after defeating Thailand’s Jitpong Jutamas 5-0 in the flyweight 52 kg final in Istanbul. The judges scored the bout 30-27,29-28,29-28,30-27,29-28 in India’s favour. With this, Nikhat became the fifth Indian women to win gold at the World Championship.
