Twenty20 cricket, also known as the T20 format is a shortened format of cricket. The T20 was originally introduced by England and Wales Cricket Board in the year 2003, at a professional level, for the inter-country competition. In this game format, the two teams get to play a single innings each, which has a maximum of 20 overs. These are mainly generally one-day matches but in a short format. The T20 has become one of the popular cricket formats, apart from ODI (One Day International) and Test format. The T20 format was firstly played in the domestic cricket tournaments but later got popularized at the international level after the first ICC Men’s T20 World Cup was played in 2007, in South Africa.
All the national cricket teams from different countries have come together to play in this format. There have been a lot of exceptional players who have done wonders in the T20 cricket format and made it something great. All the teams have got their wins and losses in the T20 innings. Out of all, the India Vs West Indies, 2016 remains at the top. At the beginning of the match, the team lost Virat Kohli and Ajinkya Rahane. It was later KL Rahul who took the lead of the match by scoring a total of 110 runs, followed by KL Rahul and MS Dhoni.
KL Rahul’s contribution to that match was brilliant. The team ended up at 245 runs. But later got defeated by West Indies. This remains one of the heartbreaking losses for the Indian team.
