The Hockey World Cup 2023 is finally here and well, we can’t keep calm. Unlike other years, this year, the expectations are really high from team India. Not only is the World Cup happening in our own country, it is also extremely special because Team India have off-late been in good form in the sport. In the recent pant, team India have brought enough glory to the sport and this time too, expectations are high from them.
The opening game was held between India and Spain and guess what ladies and gentlemen? India have had a solid start to the tournament. They have begun their campaign with an impressive 2-0 win against the mighty Spanish aka Spain. The entire team came together really well and it was Amit Rohidas who was adjudged to the man of the match. Soon after that, India and England engaged in a 0-0 game. After that, India played Wales and the final game ended with a score of 4-2. After that, India played against England and that ended in a goalless draw. In the game against New Zealand, they unfortunately lost and that crashed their hopes for a quarterfinal place. They eventually defeated Japan 8-0 and now, in the latest game against South Africa, they managed to defeat them with a final score of 5-2.
We congratulate the team for this stupendous victory and we wish them good luck going forward for the rest of the games.
