IPL 2022: Ravichandran Ashwin becomes first player in IPL history to retire himself out

Know the latest about Ravichandran Ashwin

Ravichandran Ashwin is one of the most engaging and smartest brains involved in cricket. He certainly knows how to hold his ground and doesn’t really hesitate from challenging regular norms while simultaneously following the rule books of cricket. From the mankading incident with Joss Buttler to the extra run controversy off a deflection with Eoin Morgan and Tim Southee, we have seen it all. And now, he has once again made headlines for being the first play to retire himself out as a strategic move in order to allow Rian Parag to come into the crease and bat alongside Shemron Hetmyer in the game against Lucknow Super Giants.

It is to be noted that before doing the same, he had smashed two sixes off K Gowtham’s bowling. The move was absolutely loved by experts and not just that, many cricket experts now feel that a lot of other players too will be adopting the same measure going forward.
