Know the latest about what's happening in the world of cricket and sports

The Commonwealth Games 2022 have begun already in grand style and one what makes this time even more special is the inclusion of cricket. However, India (W) didn’t really get the kind of start they were probably looking forward to in their opener game against Australia. An unbeaten, stupendous innings of 52 runs off 35 balls by Ashleigh Gardner helped Australia reach the score 157/7 in 19 overs while successfully chasing down a target of 155 runs. Renuka Singh from India was looked in good touch as she managed to take four wickets for India. Initially, Harmanpreet Kaur hammered 52 runs off 34 balls to help India post 154 for eight in 20 overs, with Jess Jonassen taking a four-wicket haul for Australia.

On the other hand, as far as men’s cricket is concerned, India’s Rohit Sharma surpassed Virat Kohli to achieve a wonderful milestone for himself. He completed two special records during the first T20I against West Indies. He scored a critical 64 runs from 44 balls on a wicket that wasn’t easy to bat on. Sharma reclaimed his crown of the highest run-getter in the Men’s T20I surpassing Martin Guptil, who was just 20 runs ahead of him. Apart from that, he also overtook Virat Kohli to become the player with most half centuries in T20I cricket. He scored his 31st T20I half century thereby surpassing Virat Kohli’s 30 half-century record.

Well, we at IWMBuzz congratulate Kohli and we wish him all the best going forward. Let us know your views in the comments section below and for more updates, stay tuned to IWMBuzz.com
