The recently-held fundraiser chess match event called ‘Checkmate COVID’ organized by Chesscom India took a rather unexpected turn after Zerodha co-founder Nikhil Kamath checkmated a five-time world chess champion, Viswanathan Anand.
Anand on Sunday participated to play in a charity Chess match along with various celebrities to raise funds for COVID-19 relief efforts. Although Anand defeated all other celebrities who played with him, the Indian grandmaster lost to Zerodha co-founder Nikhil Kamath. However much to everyone’s surprise, Nikhil Kamath on Monday confessed that he took to unfair means to defeat Anand. And guess what? Anand’s classy reply truly won the hearts of all.
