Today morning, there were reports of Rohit Sharma apparently taking over the reigns of Indian cricket as captain for the shorter format of the game.
However, soon, a statement from a BCCI official has rubbished the news. During a conversation with IANS, BCCI treasurer Arun Dhumal was quoted as saying,
This is all rubbish. Nothing (as) such is happening. This is all what you guys (media) are talking about. BCCI has not met or discussed anything on this issue (split captaincy). Virat will remain as the captain.”
