Neeraj Chopra is an Indian Athlete who holds the throne in the javelin throw. He is the first Asian athlete to win an Olympic gold medal in the men’s javelin throw.
The track and field athlete won Silver Medal at World Athletics Championship with a best throw of 88.13 meters, which he marked with his fourth attempt. The Gold Medal was won by Grenada’s Anderson Peters with a throw of 90.54 metres.
Neeraj won Gold in the Tokyo Olympics. After Abhinav Bindra, he is the second Indian to have won a solo gold in the Olympics.
The actress Anushka Sharma shared a story on Instagram by adding a post by Ndtv. The post was about Neeraj winning the Silver medal in Oregon. Anushka congratulated Neeraj Chopra for successfully achieving the medal.
This Silver Medal became India’s only second medal at the World Championships after Anju Bobby George’s bronze in 2003 for Long-Jump.
After winning the Silver Medal, in a video by Sports Authority of India, Neeraj mentioned “I’m happy that I won a medal for the country”. The athlete also showed gratitude towards the government and federation for providing with freat facilities. Further added, he will try better in the next year’s championship and make India proud.
