A really sad and heartbreaking news coming in ladies and gentlemen.
As per the latest media reports in NDTV Sports, former Indian football captain Samar Badru Banerjee who earlier led the country to a historic 4th place in the 1956 Melbourne Olympics has unfortunately passed away on Saturday. He passed away at his Kolkata residence and was 92 when he breathed his last. He is survived by his daughter-in-law. He was fondly known as ‘Badru Da’. Unfortunately, he was suffering from Alzheimer, Azotemia and high-blood pressure related ailments, and was admitted at the MR Bangur Hospital after testing positive for COVID-19 on July 27.
