Shahid Afridi is one of the most admired and respected cricketers to have ever played the game of cricket for Pakistan. He has played the game of cricket representing Pakistan for the longest time before eventually taking retirement. Right from the 90s till about 2017, Shahid Afridi has been hitting bull’s eye in every department and for real. ‘Boom Boom Afridi’ as he’s best known as has always been delivering the goods for Pakistan. Not just as a batsman at the top of the order ladies and gentlemen, he’s also been an interesting spinner. Even as a leader, he’s done pretty well for Pakistan cricket.
For the longest time, he’s not been involved with Pakistan cricket in terms of selection process. But guess what? He’s been involved in the same now. As per the latest reports in ESPN Cricinfo, Shahid Afridi has now been named as the interim chief selector of PCB cricket. Going forward, he will be taking all the major decisions involving the Pakistan mens cricket team. Given the rich pool of experience he has, it is only natural that Pakistan cricket will benefit from his experience.
