When it comes to cricketing rivalry, India and England are two countries who have had some exceptionally nail-biting matches in all forms of cricket. When India toured England in the year 2011, they didn’t have the result they would have liked.
After a big World Cup win, the team got thrashed 4-0 in the test series by England. However apart from the cricketing aspect, one thing that made news was the ‘Spirit of Cricket’ controversy involving Ian Bell.
After almost 10 years, Ian was quoted by Grade Cricketer’s YouTube channel saying,
“Yes, it’s interesting. When I look back to that, I mean, I must have been hungry or something because I literally just belted for the pavilion when I thought it was four if it was either way around, I would have been safe and we would have been fine. But yeah, they obviously got Dhoni a ‘Spirit of the Game’ award for the decade or something like that. But yeah [it was] a mistake on my behalf, should never do that.”
