As per reports in India Today, DRI officials at Mumbai airport have stopped Mumbai Indians cricketer Krunal Pandya for allegedly possessing gold from UAE beyond the permissable limit.
Reports suggest that the DRI has asked him to pay the duty and he is still at the airport.
According to the government rules, for Indians flying in from Dubai, male passengers can only import 50,000 INR worth of duty-free gold jewellery whereas the female passengers are allowed to carry double the amount.
