Virat Kohli contradicts Sourav Ganguly in ‘captaincy’ issue, opens up on ‘rift’ rumours with Rohit Sharma

Virat Kohli breaks his silence for the first time after removal as ODI skipper

The last few days have been quite hostile for all fans and supporters of Indian cricket ever since Virat Kohli was removed from ODI captaincy. So far, everyone around Kohli spoke but he kept mum.

Finally, in a media conference before the upcoming South Africa tour, Virat opened up on the captaincy issue. As per reports in NDTV Sports, he informed that he was apprised about his removal as ODI skipper just 1.5 hours before the Test squad for the same was announced. Not just that, he also reportedly refuted Ganguly’s claims that he had requested Kohli personally to not quit T20 captaincy. He ended the conference saying that he has no rift with Rohit Sharma and he’s tired of clarifying the same and mentioned about his vision to support Rohit Sharma and Rahul Dravid in their white-ball cricket ambitions.
