Lionel Messi is one of the most admired and loved footballers in the world. He’s been around in the sports fraternity for the longest time and we are absolutely in awe of everything that he does from his end. Be it for his appearances for Argentina or Barcelona in the past, he’s truly managed to win hearts for everything that he’s done and we totally love it. Messi has been a hot favourite of all the global football supporters and hence, it certainly won’t be wrong to say that he’s one of the most followed footballers among soccer lovers. While he has been around to play football for quite a long time, one dream for Messi that wasn’t perhaps realized was a FIFA World Cup final. Well, guess what ladies and gentlemen? In the year 2022, he’s even managed to achieve that feat like a true professional.
Before the final game, there were talks about Lionel Messi apparently considering retirement. But hey, is it true or has he changed his decision ever since then after the title win? Well, as per reports in ESPN, Messi was quoted by TYC saying,
“I won the Copa America and the World Cup in a short time. I love what I do, being in the national team, and I want to continue living a few more games being world champion. I am going to take the Cup to Argentina to enjoy it with you. It’s anyone’s childhood dream,” Messi said. “I was lucky to have achieved everything in this career … and this one that was missing is here.
“It’s madness … look how she [the World Cup] is, she’s gorgeous. I wanted her so much. I had a vision that this would be the one … she was getting closer.”
