Great news for Indian tennis fans!
Rohan Bopanna and Sania Mirza, the experienced duo, won against Ramkumar Ramanathan and Ankita Raina 6-2 7-6 (5) in the all-Indian mixed doubles first-round match at Wimbledon on Friday.
This was a historic match as it is the first time in the open era that two Indian teams competed against each other at a Grand Slam tournament.
This match also marked Ramkumar’s Grand Slam debut after 21 attempts to qualify for the singles main draw of a tennis major.
