For a long time, fans of ‘red ball cricket’ aka Test cricket have been waiting for the ICC World Test Championship Final. The game is all set to be played between India and England at Lords’ Cricket Ground in the month of June.
Ahead of the game, the ICC has finally announced the playing conditions for the ultimate battle.
The ICC has kept a reserve (sixth day) in case any playing day is lost. Not just that, if there’s a draw or a tie, both teams will be crowned as joint-winners of the inaugural ICC Test Championship. In a media statement, ICC was quoted as saying,
“The Reserve Day has been scheduled to ensure five full days of play, and it will only be used if lost playing time cannot be recovered through the normal provisions of making up lost time each day. There will be no additional day’s play if a positive result is not achieved after five full days of play and the match will be declared a draw in such a scenario.”
The WTC final will be played Grade 1 Dukes balls. So folks, how excited are you for the game day? Let us know your views in the comments below and for more updates, stay tuned to IWMBuzz.com
