Aleksandr Karelin is one of the legendary wrestlers and one of the most feared wrestlers. he is a Russian wrestler who is often considered as the nickname “Russian Bear” also goes by the name “Russian King Kong” as well as “Alexander the Great”. The wrestler was one of the greatest Greco- Roman wrestlers. He was predominant to the point that it prompted his opposition and the world’s media nicknaming him “The Experiment,” inferring that somebody like him couldn’t have come about normally and that he was a type of Russian science test.
He was in the Olympics on four separate occasions and won gold on three of those occasions and silver once. He is the first-ever three-time gold winner in his game. Karelin was named as the best Greco-Roman wrestler of the 20th century by the International Federation of Associated Wrestling Styles (FILA) and one of the classes of ten debut inductees straight in FILA International Wrestling Hall of excellence in 2003. He was additionally remembered as the 25 best world competitors of the twentieth century. Since 1992, a yearly wrestling championship is held in Novosibirsk under his name.
Karelin was titled a Hero of the Russian Federation in 1997 and awarded with the prestige of the Order of Friendship of Peoples (1989), followed by Order of Honor (2001), further followed by Order “For Merit to the Fatherland” IV class (2008).
