Virat Kohli, India’s captain, is widely regarded as one of the best batsmen of his generation. Kohli has been one of India’s most consistent run-scorers across all forms, and he continues to dominate bowlers in all three. In one-day internationals, the Indian captain is the best batsman in the world, but in Tests, he is second only to his arch-rival Steve Smith.
In all formats of the game, the run-machine averages over 50 runs per innings and has now struck 70 hundred in Tests and ODIs combined. In ODIs, he has 43 hundred while in Tests, he has 27. Irfan Pathan, a former Indian bowler, believes Kohli can match Sachin Tendulkar’s record of 100 centuries in international cricket if he can play for as long as the legend himself the master blaster Sachin Tendulkar did.
Sachin Tendulkar, one of the most famous batsmen of all time, achieved various milestones throughout his career. He is the all-time leading run-scorer in Tests and ODIs and holds the record for most international centuries (100). The Master Blaster smashed 49 and 51 centuries in ODIs and Tests, respectively. In all formats, he holds the record for the most centuries.
Kohli, on the other hand, is on the verge of breaking Master Blaster’s long-standing ODI record, falling only six centuries short of the batting icon. Kohli, on the other hand, is still far from matching Sachin’s century record.
According to some people, Kohli can only get a hundred in international cricket if he can maintain his fitness for a long time.
