On Sunday, the Delhi Capitals defeated the Kolkata Knight Riders by a score of 44 runs at the Brabourne Stadium.
“In the powerplay, Prithvi Shaw is a batsman who can change the game. I’ve definitely played with him previously.” In the post-match press conference, Shreyas said, “He hits the good shots, and even as a captain, I can’t figure out how to prepare the field for him.”
“Prithvi is someone who doesn’t go really big against spinners. Since he got a really good start, I tried to restrict the momentum that they got. I thought Varun and Sunil are really experienced bowlers, and they could have restricted at that point of time and give us a good hold,” he added.
In order to win games with such lofty aims, the captain added, his team must concentrate on their batting.
“I’m not concerned at all about the early starts we’re receiving. When chasing 214-215, though, you must get off to a fast start. And, you know, you can’t think about what the bowler is going to bowl because you have to have that attacking mindset right from the first ball because one error can get you out as a batsman,” Shreyas explained.
“I wouldn’t blame anyone in this particular chase. But, yes, we have this history in the last few games that we didn’t get really good starts, and obviously, that is also something we need to work on. And this is just the early stage of the tournament. So, you know, once we start practicing more, start executing stuff really well on the field, I think, things will be really taken care of pretty well,” he added.
The Chinaman bowler Kuldeep Yadav, who took four wickets and won the ‘Player of the Match’ title, was the main performer for the Delhi Capitals, who not only dominated with the bat but also with the ball. As per The Print.
