The list of substitutions for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 second leg was officially released on Saturday, with the Delhi Capitals (DC), Mumbai Indians (MI), Punjab Kings (PBKS), Rajasthan Royals (RR), Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) all are making changes to their respective teams.

While some of the replacements had already been disclosed, others were confirmed just one day before the competition resumed.

Ben Dwarshuis has been signed by DC to replace England all-rounder Chris Woakes. Dwarshuis, an Australian left-arm bowler, has played 82 T20s and took 100 wickets. Kulwant Khejroliya, a left-arm medium-pacer, has been named as M. Siddharth’s substitute. Khejroliya has formerly played for the Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore.

In replacing Mohsin Khan, Mumbai Indians have called up Gujarat’s left-arm medium-pacer Roosh Kalaria. Roosh has achieved 271 wickets in 54 first-class matches, 46 List A games, and 31 T20s.

Adil Rashid and Nathan Ellis have already been named as Jhye Richardson’s replacements, now Riley Meredith has added another member to the list. Aiden Markram of South Africa will take his position in the squad while Dawid Malan is unavailable.

Oshane Thomas and Evin Lewis, both from West Indies, have been added to the Rajasthan Royals team. Ben Stokes and Jos Buttler will be replaced. Thomas, a right-arm pacer, has appeared in 17 T20Is and has previously represented RR. Lewis has 45 T20I appearances under his belt, hitting 1318 runs with a strike rate of 158.03. He also has a total of 2 hundred and 9 fifties. Tabraiz Shamsi and Glenn Phillips had already been nominated to the squad by RR.

Bengal medium-pacer Akash Deep has been selected by Royal Challengers Bangalore to replace injured Washington Sundar. Akash Deep has 73 wickets to his name after playing nine first-class matches, 11 List A games and 15 T20s. RCB had already made four changes to their lineup, replacing Adam Zampa, Daniel Sams, Kane Richardson, and Finn Allen with Wanindu Hasaranga, Dushmantha Chameera, George Garton, and Tim David.

Sherfane Rutherford has joined Sunrisers Hyderabad as a replacement for England wicketkeeper-batsman Jonny Bairstow. The West Indian, who has seven IPL games under his belt, has previously played for the Delhi Capitals and Mumbai Indians.
