Scoring in test matches is not a cup of tea and that too on a debut is far from impossible. We got a player who has scored the highest runs in his debut innings in a test match format. New Zealand’s batsman Devon Conway becomes the seventh batsman in the test format to score a double ton on a debut with an exact score of 200 runs in his first innings however, he got out for 23 in his second innings but the record remains intact. Only eight players were able to pull off such a record-breaking score on their debut. The left-handed batsman worked effortlessly for nine and half hours and was a gemstone in reaching 378 runs for the New Zealand team. The batsman has already broken the record of highest runs at Lord’s surpassing the record of 131 runs made by the Indian player Sourav Ganguly in the year 1996.
The Australian Women team’s Michelle Goszko was the only female to have scored a double century in the year 2001. Conway couldn’t get the opportunity to score the highest of all as the last man Neil Wagner stopped him from doing so with his runout. But as long as he is in the club with the other eight he is good to go. His amazing knock was the second highest after the player Martin Donnelly with his 206 runs in the year 1949.
