Harmanpreet Singh

He was nominated to India’s Olympic team for the 2016 Summer Games. Harmanpreet Singh was a participant of the 2016 Junior Hockey World Cup-winning team. He was born on the outskirts of Amritsar on January 6, 1996. He had a passion for hockey since he was a child. He claims that his on-field efforts have aided in his ability to play the game brilliantly. He enrolled in Surjit Hockey Academy in Jalandhar when he was 15 years old with the aim of becoming a forward. His fate, on the other hand, had been determined otherwise. When he made his debut at the Sultan Johar Cup in Malaysia in 2014, he brought attention to Team India’s defensive capabilities. At the FIH Player of the Year Awards for the 2020-2021 season, he was named men’s ‘Player of the Year.’

Vivek Sagar

Vivek competed in the Tokyo Olympics 2020, which will be held in 2021. Vivek performed admirably, and India’s hockey team earned bronze for the first time in 41 years. Vivek scored an equalizer for India in the 42nd minute of the 2018 Champions Trophy final against Australia, which India eventually lost on penalties. Vivek was crowned the tournament’s best young player at the 2019 FIH Series Finals in Bhubaneswar. He was nominated for the FIH Rising Star of the Year Award in December 2019. He received 34.5 percent of the vote for the prize, making him the first Indian player to win a FIH Award.

PR Sreejesh 

In a match against Australia in Perth in 2004, Sreejesh was named to the Junior national squad. In 2006, he made his senior national team debut in Colombo at the South Asian Games. He was named the ‘Best Goalkeeper of the Tournament’ after India’s victory at the 2008 Junior Asia Cup. He has been a regular member of the Indian team since 2011, after saving two penalty strokes in the Asian Champions Trophy Final in Ordos City, China, against Pakistan, a match-winning output. He has been a member of the Indian team for six years, despite frequently losing his place to senior goalkeepers Adrian D’Souza and Bharat Chettri. At the 2013 Asia Cup, he won his second ‘Best Goalkeeper of the Tournament’ title, with India finishing second. Sreejesh has previously represented India at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London and the 2014 World Cup. He shone in India’s gold medal win at the 2014 Asian Games in Incheon, South Korea when he saved two penalty strokes against Pakistan in the final. He was named “Goalkeeper of the Tournament” at both the 2014 and 2018 Champions Trophies. He was nominated for the honor of Best Male Goalkeeper in 2014 after strong performances, however, he lost to Jaap Stockmann of the Netherlands. He was the leader of the silver-medal-winning squad at the 2016 Men’s Hockey Champions Trophy, which was held in London.

Sreejesh was named Captain of the Indian hockey squad on July 13, 2016, succeeding Sardar Singh.

Sreejesh captained the Indian hockey team to the quarterfinals of the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio.

Sreejesh played a significant role in India’s bronze medal win over Germany at the Tokyo Olympics on August 5, 2021, after 41 years.
