‘I wrote This Quote A Million Times’; All-Rounder Ashwin Shares A Note That He Wrote When Team India Dropped Him

A note that made Ashwin believe in the process of waiting and being patient.

Despite holding a 2-1 series lead and being one win or draw away from winning their first red-ball series in England in over 14 years, India’s trip to England has been particularly difficult for all-rounder Ravichandran Ashwin.

What is the explanation for this? Despite being one of Virat Kohli’s team’s most consistent performances in the longest format of the game for the past couple of years, they haven’t been able to play a single delivery or bowl a single ball in the last four matches.

The Chennai-born cricketer, however, had good things to share with his family, friends, and fans after the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced his inclusion in India’s final team for the forthcoming T20 World Cup 2021 on Twitter.

This is when Ashwin released the message he wrote for himself back in 2017 after he was dropped from the Men in Blue’s normal player rotation and was replaced by different players in all formats.

“Every tunnel has a light at the end of it. But only those in the tunnel who believe in light will live to see it.” This quote is written in big letters on a wall of Ashwin’s home.

2017: Before painting this quote on the wall, I wrote it down a million times in my diary! When we internalize and use quotes that we read and admire in our lives, they get more force. “Happiness and thankfulness are the only two words that characterize me now,” Ashwin wrote on Twitter, posting a photo of a wall at his home where he had hung his handwritten notes to remind himself of his roots every day.

“The only two words that now define me are happiness and appreciation. #t20worldcup2021,” he said, expressing his gratitude for being selected to represent his country at the highest level of cricket in the shortest format. As per mensxp.com
