IPL 2022: The Real Reason Why Harshal Patel Refused To Greet Riyan Parag

Harshal Patel refuses Riyan Parag's handshake after a heated face-off during the match

Rajasthan Royals (RR) defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) on Tuesday to maintain their winning streak. At the Pune Stadium, Rajasthan won by 29 runs, defending a low total of 144 runs. Two young guys, Riyan Parag and Kuldeep Sen were the driving elements behind RR’s success. The sweet taste of victory, on the other hand, turned bitter for Parag after he got into a scuffle with RCB bowler Harshal Patel.

The incident happened near the end of Rajasthan’s innings when Parag hit Patel for a six to put the game out of reach. Members of the support personnel separated the two players after they were seen shouting at each other. It’s unclear why Parag and Patel got into such a heated argument, but it looked to happen in the heat of the moment, at least that’s what Parag and everyone assumed. Patel, on the other hand, had a different take on what happened on the field, as seen by his refusal to shake Parag’s hand after the game.

In footage that has become popular on social media, Patel can be seen declining to shake hands with Parag after the match as the latter offers him the courtesy gesture. Parag noticed Patel walking down the street without even looking him in the eyes. Patel’s actions astounded Parag, and when he declined to shake hands, he was spotted giving him a sidelong glance.

RCB were bowled out for 115 runs in response, losing by 29 runs. With the exception of skipper Faf du Plessis, none of the batters were able to surpass the 20-run mark. From 21 balls, Du Plessis scored 23 runs. With 18 off 13 balls, Wanindu Hasaranga was the second-highest scorer for RCB. Kuldeep Sen of Rajasthan claimed four wickets. Trent Boult grabbed two wickets, while Ravichandran Ashwin took three. For his tremendous knock, Parag was chosen as the player of the match.
