The former Indian International cricketer, Irfan Pathan was one of the greatest bowlers of all time. His left-handed fast-medium swing bowling style was one of his plus points. He bagged into the national Indian cricket team at a very young age of 19. He was often compared to the Pakistani bowler, Wasim Akram. But other than bowling, he was also a great left-handed batsman. Pathan was the strength of the Indian squad and a disappointment for his opponent team. It was sometimes really difficult for the batsman to tackle his bowls.

In 2006 3rd Test match at Karachi, he became the second Indian cricketer, and the first-ever bowler to take a hat-trick in the very first over of the match. Although India didn’t win, the match was worth remarkable for his great performance. Pathan once again gave a head-to-head competition in 2007 ICC World Twenty20 final match, against Pakistan in South Africa. India scored a total run of 157 and set it as the target for Pakistan. Pakistan started well but lost three wickets. After a while, Pathan entered the field to bowl against them. He knocked out the most competent players like Shoaib Malik, Yasir Arafat, and Shahid Afridi out the field with his mind-blowing bowling skills. India won the match by 5 runs, and took the champions trophy away from them.

There have been a lot more times when he ruffled the Pakistani cricket team with his excellent skills, both in batting and bowling. He was one of the best players of the Indian squad then.
