England’s best bowler of the team is on the verge of breaking yet another amazing record of his profession, he is on the edge of surpassing India’s legendary bowler Anil Kumble. Anil Kumble was one of the finest off-spinners of all time, Anil Kumble has taken 619 wickets in the test match format making him the third-highest wicket-taker. “The King of Swing” has taken 616 wickets in his entire career making him only 3 wickets short of breaking the record of the Indian off-spinner. Anderson is also 3 wickets short of becoming the third-highest wicket-taker after Shane Warne. Anderson is hoping to break the record in the second test match against the team New Zealand, which will start on 10th June.
If he manages to break past this feat, he will be counted among the three highest wicket-takers, including Muttiah Muralitharan and Shane Warne, with their 800 and 708 wickets. Anderson also breaks the record of being the first-ever fast bowler to achieve the feat. The previous year, he recorded his 600 wicket mark becoming the first fast bowler to do so.
Anderson has by far played 161 test matches in his entire vocation with a debut in the year 2002 against Zimbabwe. Anderson is currently counted as the 4th best Test bowler in the world and the only English player to do so.
