The Customs Department reportedly seized two watches on Sunday night after Indian cricketer Hardik Pandya allegedly failed to present a bill for them. However, cricketer Hardik Pandya denied claims that he was detained at the Mumbai airport on his return from Dubai with two wristwatches valued at Rs. 5 crores, saying that just one watch for Rs. 1.5 crore was taken for “appropriate valuation.”

Hardik Pandya, in a statement on Twitter, denied the allegations, stating, “I went to the Mumbai airport customs counter on my own initiative to report the products I had brought and pay the necessary customs duty. Wrong impressions about my customs declaration at Mumbai airport have been circulating on social media, and I’d like to explain.”

From Mohammed Azharuddin to Sachin Tendulkar, there has always been a slew of luxury watch collectors among Indian cricketers. Indian cricketers have full collections of watches, ranging from Captain Kohli and Rohit Sharma to Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul. Rohit Sharma’s Instagram account is proof of the cricketer’s passion for Hublot timepieces. One of his most valuable watches, though, isn’t from a Swiss manufacturer. It is, in reality, a Rolex Sky-Dweller, which costs Rs 10.7 lakh. Though the watch generally comes with a blue or black dial, Rohit’s watch has a bespoke black dial, making it a one-of-a-kind piece.
