The late 90s was packed with some of the best tennis players in history including the names of Steffi Graf, Monica Seles, Gabriela Sabatini, and many others and the only thing left was to add one more competitive player in the field. Martina Hingis was the girl who did the impossible. The Czech-based Hingis dropped in on the gathering without a greeting, and before long turned into the visitor of honor. Before she was 19, Hingis had won each of the five of her significant singles titles. In 1996, she turned into the most youthful significant title in history at 15 years, 9 months, winning the pairs title at Wimbledon, a record she actually holds.
Playing more like a cagey veteran than a young person, Hingis won the 1997 Australian Open singles title at 16 years, 90 days, overcoming Mary Pierce convincingly. With that success, she turned into the most youthful Aussie champion ever. That March, Hingis rose to No. 1 in world rankings and turned into the most youthful at any point to stand firm in that situation.
At the Wimbledon Championships three months after the fact, Hingis did what easily fell into place – she won with a hard-battled 2-6, 6-3, 6-3 triumph over Jana Novotná, turning into the most youthful Wimbledon Ladies Singles champion since Lottie Dod in 1887.
