Novak Djokovic continued his quest for the US Open championship in 2021 with a four-set victory against Jenson Brooksby in the fourth round. Despite falling behind 1-6 in the first set, the Serbian rallied to win the match 1-6, 6-3, 6-2, 6-2. In the quarterfinals, the World No. 1 will face No. 6 seed Matteo Berrettini. With his victory over Jenson Brooksby in the fourth round, he became the only male player in the Open Era to reach the quarterfinals of all four Grand Slams, a feat only Roger Federer has accomplished. Djokovic has had 51 appearances in the quarterfinals of major tournaments, second only behind Federer’s 58.

Djokovic has reached the quarterfinals of the Australian Open 12 times, the Roland Garros 15 times, Wimbledon 12 times, and the US Open 12 times. Federer, on the other hand, has reached the quarterfinals of the Australian Open 15 times, Roland Garros 12 times, Wimbledon 18 times, and the US Open 13 times. Djokovic will try to beat this record while simultaneously attempting to surpass Rafael Nadal & Roger Federer’s combined total of 20 Grand Slam victories. All three are now ranked 20, and Djokovic has a one-of-a-kind opportunity to go to 21 because neither the Swiss nor the Spaniard will be competing in the US Open.

With his victory over Brooksby, Djokovic joined an exclusive club of players who have won the US Open the most times. Djokovic is now tied with Andre Agassi for the most wins with 79 and is ten wins away from matching Roger Federer’s record. Jimmy Connors is the all-time leader with 98 victories between 1970 and 1992.

Novak Djokovic increased his undefeated Head2Head record against Americans at their home Slam to 11-0, and his winning run over Americans overall to 21 with his victory over Jenson Brooksby. In terms of Novak Djokovic’s calendar slam, the Serbian is only nine sets away from completing the calendar-year Grand Slam.
