“Manchester United is thrilled to confirm that the club has reached agreement with Juventus for Cristiano Ronaldo’s transfer, subject to agreement of personal terms, visa and medical,” the club said in a statement.

Despite this, journalist Fabrizio Romano stated on Friday that Manchester City had dropped out of talks with Ronaldo and Juventus without reaching an agreement.
Following Man City’s withdrawal, Romano stated that Manchester United was preparing a bid and was “confident” of landing the iconic forward.
The 36-year-old had just begun his fourth season with Juventus, having previously spent six years with Manchester United and nine years with Real Madrid, as well as a season with Sporting in Portugal to start his professional career.
When Ronaldo was on the bench for Juve’s Serie A opener against Udinese on Sunday, rumors of a Ronaldo move erupted. Ronaldo came in the 60th minute and thought he’d scored the game-winning goal, but it was overturned after a VAR review, resulting in a 2-2 draw.
According to Sky Sports, Ronaldo requested to sit on the bench in order to “preserve his fitness” ahead of a prospective transfer.
