The skipper of the Indian Hockey Team for the Tokyo Olympics has been named as the banner conveyor for India alongside Mary Kom, the Bronze medallist of the London Olympics. Manpreet Singh turned into the main Indian Hockey player to be the banner conveyor at the Olympics, following the previous Indian hockey chief – Pargat Singh (1996 Atlanta Olympics). He was naturally introduced to a group of cultivating organizations. In 2020, he got hitched to Najwa Saddique whom he had initially met when the group had taken part in the Sultan of Johor Cup in 2013. Manpreet Singh considered Indian Hockey skipper Pargat Singh to be his motivation. He began playing hockey at 10 years old.

Manpreet Singh has played almost 259 global matches for India. He began playing hockey on the demand of his dad Baljit Singh and senior siblings Amandeep Singh and Sukhraj Singh at the hockey arena at Mithapur. Manpreet Singh then, at that point proceeded to play in the Sultan Azlan Shah Cup in 2016. Not long before the beginning of the competition, his dad died which came as a shocker for him.
