Indian women athletes have always raised the bar high. They are strong, determined, and fierce. They do not take no for an answer and they try their level best to reach their goal. Out of the many, here we have 5 women athletes who are the pride of India.

1. Sania Mirza.

Sania Mirza, a six-time Grand Slam doubles champion, is off to a fantastic start in 2020. Due to injury and later pregnancy, she was forced to leave the tennis tour in 2018 and 2019. After giving birth to her first child, however, she made a triumphant return to the professional circuit after a 27-month sabbatical.

In January 2020, she won the WTA Hobart International doubles title in her very first competition.

Mirza and her partner Nadiia Kichenok won the women’s doubles title after defeating Shaui Peng and Shuai Zhang, the No. 2 seeds, in the final (6-4, 6-4).

2. Aditi Ashok 

Aditi Ashok is a well-known golfer despite the fact that she is only 22 years old. The Bengaluru golfer qualified on the Ladies European Tour (LET) in 2016 after starting the sport at the age of five. Aditi represented her country at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio, where she briefly held the lead during the second round before finishing 41st behind gold medalist Inbee Park. Aditi, a true legend missed a bronze medal at the Tokyo Olympics but Indians are very happy with her performance.

3. P V Sindhu 

Well, who hasn’t heard of this woman? The bold, the fierce we will fall short of adjectives to describe her powers in the badminton court. The two-time Olympics champion has won every Indian’s heart. We adore her and she never disappoints us.

4. Sakshi Malik 

This 28-year-old wrestling queen has made the nation proud by winning a bronze medal for India’s 58 kg category in the year 2016 Olympic games. Not only that but she also became the first Indian woman wrestler to win a medal in wrestling.

5. Mary Kom

Mary Kom has always made India proud at every given event. She has had a long struggle. The boxer, athletic genius knows how to be a star. She has won several medals some of them include Bronze: 1 Olympic, 1 World Championship, 1 Asian games. Silver: 1 World Championship and 2 Asian Championship Gold: 6 World Championships, 1 Asian games, 1 Commonwealth games, and 5 Asian championships.
