Sourav Ganguly To Yuvraj Singh: Here’s All-Time Best India ODI XI

To Yuvraj Singh, Sourav Ganguly says, "Here's the Best India ODI XI of All Time."

Team India has thrived in the One-Day International format over the years. As a result, they have won two ODI World Cups and created a number of superstar cricketers who have performed admirably in the 50-over format. The Rohit Sharma-led Indian team played their 1000th One-Day International (ODI) on Sunday (February 6), becoming the first team to do so.

India defeated the Kieron Pollard-led West Indies by six wickets in their historic match, making their 1000th outing in the shorter format a memorable one. Prior to the historic match, former India bowler Venkatesh Prasad released his all-time Indian ODI XI, which included some of the country’s top cricketers. In Prasad’s ODI XI, the top order includes Virender Sehwag, Sachin Tendulkar, former captain Virat Kohli, and Md Azharuddin.

The middle and lower orders are led by Yuvraj Singh, MS Dhoni, and Kapil Dev (all of whom led India to 50-over World Cup victories in 1983 and 2011 respectively), while specialist bowlers include Anil Kumble, Harbhajan Singh, Javagal Srinath, and Zaheer Khan. Prasad has played for Team India in 161 One-Day Internationals, capturing 196 wickets at an average of 32.30 and one five-fer.

However, other notable players, such as Mohinder Amarnath, Rahul Dravid, Sourav Ganguly, Rohit Sharma, and others, were left off the list. Virender Sehwag, Sachin Tendulkar, Virat Kohli, Mohammed Azharuddin, Yuvraj Singh, MS Dhoni, Kapil Dev, Anil Kumble, Harbhajan Singh, Javagal Srinath, Zaheer Khan.
