#TB: When Chris Gayle Joined Indian Cricket Team

West Indies player Chris Gayle has been a massive hit in most of the IPL seasons as a part of more than one team

Chris Gayle, a former West Indian cricketer, has been a part of the Indian Premier League (IPL) since its inception in 2009. However, at the super auction in February of this year, the iconic IPL hitter went unsold, leaving Gayle out of the league for the first time in his career. However, the 42-year-old has stated that he intends to return to the league next season and has identified two teams for which he wishes to win the championship. Gayle has played for three different IPL franchises. In 2009, he was signed by the Kolkata Knight Riders, and during his two-year tenure, he amassed 463 runs in 16 innings, including two half-centuries.

Chris Gayle joined the RCB in 2011 and remained with the team till 2017. Chris Gayle, the legendary West Indian batter, was inducted into the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) Hall of Fame. During his time with the RCB, he dominated the league, scoring 3420 runs in 91 games at an average of 43.29 and a strike rate of 154.40, with 21 fifties and five centuries. In addition, when playing for RCB, he scored 175* runs, the highest individual score in the tournament’s history.

“Next year, I’ll be back because they need me! I’ve played for three teams in the IPL: Kolkata, RCB, and Punjab. I’d love to win a trophy with either the RCB or Punjab teams. I had a great time with the Royal Challengers Bangalore, where I was more successful in the IPL, and Punjab has been terrific. Let’s see what happens,” he said, adding, “I enjoy exploring and solving problems.”
